How to deal with blockage in belt conveyor?

Dec 25, 2024

When a blockage occurs in the belt conveyor, we need to immediately stop the operation of the conveyor. By actively inspecting and observing, identify the reasons causing the blockage. Possible reasons include material adhesion, excessive material humidity, material accumulation, inappropriate tension of the conveyor belt, etc. Corresponding solutions can be taken based on different reasons.

The methods for dealing with blockages in belt conveyors are:

1.The conveyor should have a sufficient width suitable for specific loads and characteristics of the conveyed materials;

2.The inclination angle of the feeding machine must be designed to prevent material from slipping or rolling under normal working conditions;

3.The conveyor should be equipped with control devices to ensure uniform feeding;

4.The slope of the hopper or chute wall, the position, and size of the discharge port must ensure that the material can flow out automatically by its own gravity;

5.The receiving point should be located on a horizontal section, measures to reduce impact force should be taken, and guide plates should be installed. When the feeding point needs to be located on a sloping section, auxiliary loading facilities should be set up;

6.Drop plates should be installed in the section of the vertical tensioning device area.
